Bob As per last Sigraph you were expected to do the usual "at the scene" reporting to give us po' folk a peekie-pooh behind the doors at the parties and at the boothes!! Hey, even a one liner would be nice…. …and to think I trusted…..<G> Did you leave the laptop at home?? (pity, sigh) You know what would be nice is to add real person video to the 3ds reel or create a seperate reel to introduce people and show the parties etc! even show 3ds5MAX interface screen captures and features!!<g> at any rate at least chase down a description of Tim Forcade….what DOES he look like……..Is David Gould a Mel Gibson look a like or does he really look like something from the "X files"!! Does Gary Yost cause a hush to fall over the crowd……..does he float an inch of the ground or what? Don't ask just DO IT! gimme details how ever sparse, I know you're having fun………..Gary

Gary: >> As per last Sigraph you were expected to do the usual "at the scene" reporting to give us po' folk a peekie-pooh behind the doors at the parties and at the boothes!! << Hey, hey, hey, check your software dude. I had a McD's burger on Sunset Blvd. last night next to three high school guys. A record must have been set for the number of times the word 'dude' was used in a 15 minute interval. Virtually every sentence began and ended in 'dude'. Did you ever hear the song "Don't call me DUDE!" – couldn't get it out of my mind. FWIW, I spilled out all kinds of slop regarding SIGGRAPH whilst at the scene of the crime. I'm back on the east coast tonight contemplating a Raptor. >> even show 3ds5MAX interface screen captures and features!!<g> << You did download all of Gary's files, right? There was a screen capture or two uploaded – check it out. A psuedo-feature list can be found in the form of a description of MAX as well. One of the Autodesk reps also thought that filming the SIGGRAPH demo would be a good idea as the tape could be sent out to dealers so that customers could stop by and view it or get a copy. We'll have to see if this idea gets support. – Bob Ritger

They WERE MEAN-lookin' birds, weren't they? Could you imagine what GY's demo of 3dS MAX would have looked like running on that platform, as opposed to the putt-putt dual 120 P5 they were using? HA! Listen to this! Will we ever get enough horsepower on the desktop where we'll be satisfied?

>> at any rate at least chase down a description of Tim Forcade….what DOES he look like….<< You know, of course, that Tim Forcade does not exist. He is simply a Cyberhead created as a front for a group of 100 very busy chimpanzee typists. >> Does Gary Yost cause a hush to fall over the crowd……..does he float an inch of the ground or what?
