Can anyone tell me why 3ds4 will only assign 2 faces to extruded arc polylines? Is there a setting that will up the number of faces? Also will 3ds4 not recognize acad r13 solids?

Check your 3DS.SET file — there's a setting called something like DXF-ARC-DEGREES that controls segmentation of arcs. Also, you need to contact your dealer to get 3DSr4c1 (if you haven't) and then use 3DSOUT to export ACADr13 solids to 3DS. With 3DSOUT, use the FACETRES variable to control mesh density. Dave

David, Just a note – the current version of 3DS is R4c2 (adds the call-in for authorization code). No one who has R4c1 needs to change (but remember to register). Kevin Krell – Computer Support Associates

Kevin: I thought c2 was just going out in new shipping product — didn't know it was the new upgrade number too. Thanks for the info. Dave

Thanks Dave, I had already managed to figure out much of this. Thanks for the info anyway. Steve
