Hi, I hope you can resolve a problem I'm having. It has been discussed on CIS a little, and I'm pretty sure I'm doing things right…but I get the wrong image the problem 2 autoreflect windows near a corner of a building each has it's own material applied (win1 win2) each was applied by selecting faces. I keep getting bogus reflections I'm uploading a prj file reflec.zip mesh/project files that demostrates the behavior. If you would render frame 20 you will note that one window is completly reflecting a wall that should not be visable to the map Please help….deadlines you know <g> Todd

TBruno, I tried to download your file but could not find it. You could try deleting the objects and making new ones. Sometimes this solves a sticky problem. You can also send the file directly to me, and I will try to get a chance to look at it tonight. Michele

Michele, Thanks for the offer but…things worked out. John's message regarding MIRROR-CLIP-ANY saved the day. Thanks again for the offer, it was unexpectedly nice. Todd

>>bogus reflections… Todd, From looking at your REFLECT.PRJ file, it seems you have a version of the dreaded mirror-clipping problem. Even when splitting the wall object into separate planer objects to simplify things, I got a bogus reflection whenever a vertex from one wall intersected the plane of the mirror on the other wall (it did not have to intersect the mirror itself). I didn't have time to narrow this down further, but when I set MIRROR-CLIP-ANY=ON in the 3ds.set file, the problem went away. Check out pg 9-64 in the manual. JKJ
