Dear Dave:
I've been doing an evaluation on AS for the past month. I sent the
registration the day after I received the software. I also faxed it to the
numbers specified for both the manual and the update. After 2 weeks and
reading all the form letters here I called the 800 # and they did not have me
registered. She said she registered me and I would be getting the update.
Today (2 weeks later) I spoke with "Penny" who said I was registered but not to
receive the update or the manual. She asked me to fax it again, but I have
sent the original to Autodesk by mail.
I would appreciate anything you can do. I can E-mail you my registration info
directly if that would be helpful.
Thanks.
JB

Dave,
Is it just me, or does this administrative trouble have anyone else a little
nervous about the MAX migration deal? If we do indeed have to make the deal
before shipping date, what's going to happen when no one can find a record of
it when shipping time comes? Or, a record of our R4 registrations when we make
the deal in the first place?

<g> good question, Terry. i'd be curious to know what Gary and the gang have to
say about this. 🙂

I'm nervous as hell, Terry. I even posted a message to the (normally) reliable
ADesk people asking about this, and received not the slightest response. Since
I didn't get SIGGRAPH tickets (first time in years) I am particularly nervous
about them knowing I am a registered owner of R4.
What makes it worse is that I don't have a regular dealer, either. (My former
dealer went into another line — Greg Pyros). Here in Nevada we don't even
have someone close, so all my business has been mail order and… Oh well, I
can only hope that SOMEONE at ADesk will get their act together (my customer
list is the most precious thing I have — too bad ADesk doesn't feel that way).
Hi Mike,
<< I even posted a message to the (normally) reliable ADesk people asking

Please call 1-800-538-6401, Autodesk's Main Customer Service number. They are
able to verify your registration status.

oh wow. what city, Mike? i used to live in Vegas and currently live in Reno.
(i'm not a dealer, nor do i do supoort for a dealer there… just curious).

That's why you need to find a good dealer.

Got one, James Murphy, he's clearing out the mines and watching my back well.

Dave, Hi it's nasty old me. 🙂 Anyway, I haven't rcvd the Animator Studio
upgrade either. Sent in my card and later an updated request directly to Nik
Grant via E-Mail. All the specifics are contained therein. You *know* I want
this software to be smok'n, even if i have been a noisy in my
disgruntlednessnessness. Jeffrey

Sorry that I don't have any info yet. I'm making phone calls every day. At
this point, I have been promised a list of who's going to be on the next
shipment of c1's. That list will show up tomorrow.
Thanks.
<<promised a list of who's going to be on the next shipment of c1s>> life is so
much easier one frame at a time (SMPTE). Imagine the MAYTAG Repairman, with
nothing to do ;). Thanks for the help – Jeffrey
Jeffrey,
I sent you a copy of the B&W manual for AAStudio, but it came back. Can you
confirm your address in a private email? The note on the package says "NO
ACCESS NO NAME ON BUZZER". Is your buzzer unlabeled?
Thanks…
Hi Nik – sorry about the NO ACCESS NO NAME ON BUZZER! you can indicate on
package that it can be left with the ground-floor store or landlord's office
right across the street. Alos, I'm hoping that the Ani-Studio upgrade is coming
with it ;)= Sorry for the hassles Jeffrey
