#No more Amiga Toasters?
3 messages in this thread
Anyone know wher I can get get a character Generator I can use live as good as
the Toaster on PC? or a framestore etc. Toaster is a great live production
tool too. Everyone is choking on this NLE issue. Will PC Toaster have live
capabilities. Or will we need Play Inc. box "trinity"
Why is Newtek so obviously absent from this thread????

They're not. Chuck Baker stepped in when it was appropriate to clear up some
points regarding NewTek.
But it really isn't realistic to expect NewTek to reveal their total thinking
on the issue: that's rightfully proprietary.
On the other hand, all of us here are perfectly free to state our views with
the knowledge that Chuck does gather up the transcripts of our threads here and
forwards them to management.
In regard to the specific capabilities of the PC Toaster, that's something
you ought to ask Chuck directly. I think the subject was touched upon a few
months back, but I don't recall the details.
Finally, I don't think any of us are belittling the qualities and
capabilities of the Toaster, just kind of wondering how long NewTek will
continue to manufacture Amiga based products. As far as supporting them, NewTek
(via Chuck) has been pretty clear that NewTek intends to support its Amiga
based products forever.

John,
According to litierature in the press kit NT was distributing at SIGGRAPH, the
PC Toaster will have 3 Digital buffers, a CG program, Lightwave, and a 4 input
switcher. There was no mention of a paint program.
