For some strange reason my AUDIO clips are stuttering like crazy – all of them – whether in a project or not. Has anyone had this problem? Help!

Sam I had the problem only a few times (lucky me). I was recording a few audio clips in – and when I went to play them back they stuttered horribly. Even though, I had some older clips still on the drive and those played fine. I ditched the new clips, turned off the machine, waited a little while (about a cigarette break worth). I came back and when I digitized the clips again – they played fine. We've been having some heat buildup problems in our office – especially in the video suite (ugh!) Really great for a multimedia company with a building full of computers – but that's summer in New Orleans. Anyway, toward the middle of the afternoon the Flyer starts to act up even though it is in a well ventilated tower. I turn it off for a few minutes (its afternoon nap) and it usually chills out for the rest of the day. The heat thing seems to be a VERY critical factor. BarryVedros ISI

Barry, My stuttering problems seem to coincide with the excessive heat spell here in NYC. The heat seems to have built up in my studio so that the A/C gets it down to about 78 degrees, instead of the usual 72. Any ideas about getting these drives cooler would be appreciated. I've got them in a well ventilated tower (The Drive In), but perhaps I should open up the case and put more fans on the drives…
