A colleague has made an architectural model in AcadR13 and .3DS-ed it to 3dStudio R4. Views created in Acad came in to 3ds (I'm not sure if they came in as cameras or as vports. I've never used R13, and I forgot to ask). When he zoom extents the various vports, he sees nothing. This is not unusual, except that usually we see icons for cameras and lights, even if we don't see geometry. He sees no icons. There are about twenty cameras in the scene (don't ask me. He's doing a series of stills, but maybe he should have set twenty camera setups over twenty frames in the keyframer). I think there is geometry in the vport, because he says there's regen time when he does the zoom extents; the geometry must be so far away that the whole model is only a pixel large. Is it possible to create an entity that has no visible attributes, but would still be included in a zoom extents? Should he just remove all but a couple cameras?

<…zoom extents problem…> Try turning off the lights and cameras then zooming extents. (Alt-C, Alt-L)
