#Stealth64 VRAM Drivers
6 messages in this thread
I recently installed a Diamond Stealth 64 VRAM (PCI) Card in one of my systems,
but when I tried to setup the driver (for 3DSR4) with 3DS VIBCFG, I found out
that the existing Inline Drivers for this card, (Included in 3DSR4) do not
support a 640×480 display mode, at 16.7 Millions Colors.
The existing "Stealth 64 VRAM"driver (in 3DSR4) works only in 256 Colors
maximum (I',m using Vibrant's Inline Driver Ver. 1.0.7).
Is there a NEWER Version of the VIBRANT Inline drivers (for this Card) ?
If so, Where can I find and/or get this driver that will support my card
(Stealth 64 VRAM) in 640×480, 16.7 Million Color Display Mode ???
Do I have to use RCPADI ? (I hope not !)
Thanks !

Look at file VIB3DS.ZIP in library 3. This is the latest version of the
Vibrant drivers.
====================================================================
Update to the Vibrant Graphics drivers which shipped with Autodesk 3D Studio
R4. Fixes MGA Impression and other bugs. Supports the same cards as
v1.0.6.p4.
Caution: Use at your own risk. Autodesk disclaims any responsibility for this
new set of drivers.
This includes Cirrus 543x Orchid Kelvin 64, EZ Diamond Speedstar 64 STB
Horizon+, Nitro TSENG ET4000 W32 Impression Plus S3 TRIO Leadtek, Imagine
128, VESA 16 & 24 bit… VIBLST.ZIP has the complete list.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm already using those Vibrant Drivers and
they don't include the one I need. The file in library 3 is version 1.0.7p,
which are the latest drivers uploded to Cserve.

Yeah, I had the same experience with my Stealth 64 Video Vram. Just choose the
"Stealth 64" driver, not the VRAM driver, and everything should work fine (this
advice came from vibrant). I'm not sure if I have the absolute latest VibCFG.
Mine's about April '95 or so. Maybe they've put out a new one that has drivers
specifically for the 64 VRAM.

I tried it but it fails the video test. The only one that seems to work is the
"Stealth 64 VRAM" driver, but only in 256 Colors. I'm using Vibrant's online
drivers version 1.0.7p.

This notice may also be something that will help:
>>I got good news for all of you Diamond Stealth 64 Video users! Vibrant has
written a fix for using AutoCAD with the "Stealth 64 Video" video card. The
fix also works with 3D Studio (at least for me).
To get the fix, go on the Vibrant BBS 512-918-3411 and download the file
stlbios.exe. The fix needs only to be run once. It worked for me!
This file will not work for anyone having problems with the older S3-964 based
"Stealth 64". It only works with the newer S3-968 based "Stealth 64 Video"
