I need to get pointed in the right direction, I'm shure this is in the doc's
but I can't find where.
I need to change a gif bit map image color. In this case a rope weave pattern
thats Black and White. I need to have the darker tones absorb more of the
color (say yellow) than the lighter tones. (With a standard glass ink the
lighter tones reflect more of the color than the dark tones. And I need just
the oppesite.)

forgive me for jumping in here, because I am a total novice.
However, I am working my way through the tutorial chapters in the manual, and
last night I was doing tutorial six – Using Masks.
I think you need to make a mask first, then apply ink. See page 169 onwards.
