WS_POPUP??
4 messages in this thread
I am using VB with your vplay.vbx. When I try to play an animation on a form
that was set system modal( that is, with API SetSysModal set to the form), the
animation does not work. Is this due to the fact that the animation window is
WS_POPUP?? We tried to child the animation window but we were unsuccessful.
Do you have any solutions to this problem?? Thanx for the time.

Adlai
The animation window most likely will not work on a system modal form. This is
because of the way that the Animation window is displayed. Remember, the player
window is really two windows. First there is the child window, the one you
create from your application. Then there is a second borderless windows that
is carefully laid on top of the child, only its not a
child window, its a parent window of the AAPLAY.DLL. This is why it can't be
controlled because it really isn't owned by the application that is using the
DLL.
You might be able to do something with the Window handle of that borderless
window, to allow it to display. Here is a clip from an e-mail that should help
you get the handle information.

There are ways to get the window handle for the animation window.
If you are using the DLL directly, there is a setting, AA_ANIMWND,
that will return the handle to the animation window. You can get
it using:
(HWND)aaGetParm(hAnim, AA_ANIMWND);
In VB, I think there is a read-only property, that returns the
animation handle, and you can use that to the the window handle.
There might even be a read-only property to return the animation
window handle. Check the VBPLAY.VBX help file.
Thank you for the information. Is there any new development tools that
accompany the 4.0 release of animator studio.
If this is the case, do we have the ability to make an audio interleaved
flc???? Thank you for your time.

There has not yet been a developers kit released that is associated with
Animator Studio.
There is no such thing as an audio interleaved flic. (this means a file with
both audio and display tracks with an FLC extension) Animator Studio can
create Audio interleaved files, in an AVI format. You do not need a developers
kit to do this. AVI is the format that Animator Studio works with primarily.
(of course it continues to work with FLC's as well, but it handles them a
little differently than AAPRO).
