I think there will be no doubt that 3D Studio MAX will run on Apha processor
under Windows NT. Microsoft has such a high commitment with Digital Equipment
for Windows NT that it would it be a blunder of either software manufacturer to
bring out a application who will run under NT only on Intel platform.
Compatibity with DEC (and Microstation, Aspen, Carrera, …) would be a big
gain for Autodesk vs the traditional Workstation market segment.
Expect also price drop of these systems as Intel will bring out
(multiprocessor) P6 systems at affordable prices. Thiis will be only the
beginning of a muc broad accepantance between animatorqs accustomed to high end
markets.

P.S. Let's no more talk about Windows 95. Windows NT si the only operating
system to talk about. It's fully 32 bit and very stable ( version 3.5)
