I have had an AMI/1000 with just about all video hardware & software
available. My purpose for getting it was primarily experimentation in
video/computer interfacing. I have just come across an opportunity to purchase
our local cable TV company and I would plan to introduce some quality
advertising & community programming (local sports, school activities, local
government announcements and reports, fitness programs, etc…) and I would
like to – if possible – get in touch with A-Forum members who already deal in
TV broadcasting or cable with emphasis on computer generated titles, video
animations, etc… My AMIGA finally put to work!!

I am program manager for Dynamic Cablevision of Florida, which now owns four
Amigas. We produce 50 hours of local programming per week the Amiga shows up

On a technical level, is the composite video Brodcast Quality? What encoder do
you use?

The composite video straight out of the Amiga is a far cry from broadcast. I
have been using the Genkey GK-1 genlock from Sci-Tech for about three weeks and
am very happy with the results. The unit gives complete control of the
computer's outputt, so we can make it broadcast quality (one-volt).
Great, let's talk turkey. How much did it cost? And by broadcast quality, do
you mean the sync, black level and bandwidth etc. are all correct, or that it
looks nice? I've been trying to determine what constitutes "broadcast quality"
on this sig.
On the Genkey, you say that yhave control of the computer's output, so you
can "make" it broadcast quality. What do you mean? Does the genlock lock to a
VCR? So many questions… sorry! Maybe you could give me a phone number though!
