#CDROM And 3.1

Hi, Was wondering if anyone knows if(or how) 3.1 OS handles CDROMS? Have a GVP controller and can mount cd0: , and can see the drive, but can't take a directory of the CDROM. Think the CDROM is the ISO-9???? standard.. So do I need something besides the 3.1 OS to look at these standard CDROMS?? Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed light on the subject.. (when I say I can see the CDROM I mean through faaastpreps) -Tom-

Thomas, Try changing the Icon Info from DEVICE=scsi.device to DEVICE=gvpscsi.device. Click once on the Icon for CD0:, hold down the right Amiga key and press the i key. When the screen opens up, make the change and select SAVE. This should solve your problem. Regards, Norman Austin 70743,1535

Thanks.. managed to talk to it by writing my own mountlist in devs:dosdrivers.. where does cd0: mountlist live? any idea? (of course my accelerator conflicts with at least my mountlist.. so I havta run it in 68000 mode.. kinda a pain) Your impliing I can get to a driver through workbench.. humm.. will check around some.. Thomas, Aren't your other scsi devices running of of your GVP scsi port? If you have OS 3.1, you should have a workbench driver for your CDRom. I kind of thought I had a handle on these machines, but last night I couldn't get the PC0 icon to work on my A4000 at work. I have an A4000 at home that works fine, an A2000 at work that works fine, but my A4000 at work will not give me the PC0????, nor will it acknowledge a PC disk, either low or high density. I get the message that PC0: is already mounted, but nothing shows up. Sounds a little like your problem. I had my CDRom drive hooked up to my Warp Engine and only had to drop the icon into the devs/DOSDrivers drawer, no mountlist entry was needed. Regards, Norman Austin 70743,1535

you need the diskchange command…. it comes with crossdosv5+crosspc…if you have it just type diskchange pc0:

Good point! Don't know where the GVP series II controllr put its mountlist equivalent stuff.. will keep searching Nothing is easy , even easy stuff isn't easy! <- thought for the day.. I don't have any icons in devs/dosdrivers eexcept pipe -Tom-

download qinfo from amiga user…then decompressit then put in c: then type getqinfo devices saverequest, when it's done answer yes…this creates a list of all the files on your drives….then to find it open the qpop commdity and type in a letter toosearch for…this will help you keep track what's where on your harddrive if run often….
