Tens of millions 486/pentiums being sold.
Like my company they bought at least 500 486 or pentiums to run thier
equipment. My wife's employer probaly bought over 1000.
I have no figures but I would bet 80% of the computers being sold are to
large companies.
Most of the 286/386 users I meet refuse to upgrade. They don't like the rapid
depreciation,false software claims and the aggravation or expense of keeping
thier computers working. Hardly any of them have modems.
The market that Intel IBM and Microsoft has developed is not very happy and I
have seen surveys where the PC Clone users are not nearly as loyal as
commodore/amiga or mac users.
