Productivity, multimedia and entertainment Software to be bundled with Amiga
computers

The Amiga 1200, fitted with a 170 Mb harddrive and two megabytes of RAM will be
bundled with the SCALA MM 300 Multimedia authoring software. With this
combination, the user will be able to do high quality multimedia presentations
out of the box at the advantageous price of 499 UKP. Some well known Amiga
productivity software packages will also be part of this offer.
The A1200 is also available without harddrive but bundled with the productivity
software, except for SCALA at a price of 399 UKP.
The Amiga 4000T, fitted with a SCSI harddrive of 540MB or 1GB and 6 MB of RAM
will be available with SCALA MM 300. This is the perfect package for those who
want to make professional-looking presentations in a quality unmatched on any
other system at that price.

Now the question that all of us on *this* side of the pond are waiting to have
answered:
Who is the U.S. Distributor?
A dealer network is set up with no distribution?
When will dealers be announced and how? (assuming that there will be new
dealerships in the U.S.) Can someone upload a list?
And finally a THANK YOU for all of the existing Amiga dealers! I'll check with
you first!

CEI is U.S. distributor for Amiga Technologies. Current Amiga dealers
(including myself) and any new dealers interesting in selling Amiga's will
supply the N. American market.
BTW…CEI will also be S. American distributor as they were during C= times.

I wonder why that wasn't stated, and even said that AT/ESCOM is looking for an
"Investor/Distributor" (if I read it right.)
Will CEI continue to sell retail? (I bought everything from Alex)
Why not lobby for a section in AmigaVendor that lists Dealers or at least, post
an *Autorized Dealer* list in the library?
As stated, I plan to support my local dealer when possible!

Are you sure about this? Did you hear it from anyone BESIDES CEI? From
what I've read, here, on Usenet, and on Fido, CEI is NOT the official NA
distributor and may not (they haven't behaved well lately)…….????

Escom has fairly well implied they are looking for anyone BUT CEI to do it.
Their comments were sort of like, "We're looking for a serious North American
company to seriously market the Amiga, seriously, and we haven't found one that
is actually serious." Basically they implied any companies they already had
discussions with were not what they wanted, (read CEI is not what they want)
and yes, they may indeed still be sore that CEI, by bidding and counterbidding
at all, drove the price up 5 million bucks. Whether Alex is serious or not is
not my say, I do not really know the goings on behind the scenes, but from what
I can tell, Escom was actually letting CEI make a proposal, but apparently did
not like what they saw so they are still looking.
Looks like we'll have to wait 'two more weeks' Jim.
