What exactly didn't work? Sounds like you do have a problem with your system if nothing works…

My cannon BJC600 refused to print any color and printed text in a really wierd format. I finally hooked it back up to the 486. The primera would only print using diskmaster and then it didn't look very good. Primera sent me thier 4.1 driver for the Amiga so that is all I use now. I'm basicaly a "new" user of the Amiga as I have only had mine for 2 years. I found the program extremely hard to figure out and probaly did not have it set up right. No offense ment as there are quite a few other programs I can't get to work like they claim. I also tried studio on my panosonic 1124 and my citizen gsx140. The citizen seems to work fine.

John, I can give an unsolicited testimonial to Wolf's drivers. They work fine for my BJC-600. However, you have a good point, I think I had to read a lot of documentation when I first set it up ! Wolf, how about a short "Get me Started" readme for all us dummies out here, and save the heavy stuff for when we experiment later ? Daring to be different, Amiga on the Internet, Lotus on the Interstatee

First to the problems of John: It pretty much sounds like you are having a serious hardware problem. I assume you have problems with your printer cable or CIA chips. Regarding the Canon and Studio manual: I'm always trying to improve the manual in order to help novice users. But before complaining: give me an exact example of what you think should be added to the manual. And please, always remember that what you recomend must be true for all users of your printer and other printers. That's not easy! And don't forget, writing a manual takes lot's of time that must be paid for. Writing a manual like the current Studio manual takes months because of the tech. details included not found anywhere else. Since V2 and CanonDisk V3.1 we actually use new installing software wich required 3 months work. The manual now includes examples of how to setup the drivers for major applications. This seems to have solved most of the pain. As said, if you have any detailed suggestions, let me know. I really would like to improve the manual further. But I'm sitting here in the dark and I'm often suprised about the problems that appear on the user side in the out'er world. 😉
