Hello everybody, I've got a little problem: Two days ago, while I was installing a software on my hard drive, Actually, it's not that funny because since that day, my A1200 keeps saying that the hard drive is 100% full (in fact, it's only around 80%full) When I try to access the drive from CLI, it says that the drive HD1: is being validated (?) This is quite annoying because I can't write anything on the drive. I'd rather not reformat it because I don't want to backup everything on 3"5 disks. Is there a solution?

Hi Christiane, First of all, the safest way to get out is: first make a backup (Don't make it, if you want to gamble <bg>) Then you can download Disksalv (DSALV.LHA in this forum), unpack it and let it run over your harddrive. I never had a harddrive-problem, which couldn't be solved by that program. I never had to use my backups. But please make it anyway. Good luck. Hi, >> When I try to access the drive from CLI, it says that the drive HD1: is being validated (?) << Your Amiga probably crashed while it was writing to your Hard Disk. Just boot it up and let the drive work for a while without U using it. You should hear the drive working while it is validating. When this is finished (could take a looong time), check your Hard Disk with a program called 'DiskSalv', available in the libs here. Do this know, you're making it worse by always rebooting your Amiga. Good luck! Karl Van Hoyweghen on AutoPilot 1.80 Z7 A4000/40-Tower (karl.vanhoyweghen@ping.be)

I would suggest getting Quaterback utility. It is a very good disk fixer.

Christiane, Try DiskSalv 2.0 a program by Dave Haynie. You found it on aminet CD, fish disk or as DSALV.LHA in library 9 of this forum (AmigaUser). Good luck Erich
