Hmmmm. I had the same reaction.
I've been able to temporarily side-step the problem by setting up a
copy of Termite on the Amiga + a serial connection between the Amiga and the
PC's. Using standard terminal emulation on both the PC and the Amiga I have
been transfering files after converting IFF24's to Targa files via the Personal
Anim Recorder exporters.
Transfer rates for a 1.5 meg Targa file runs about 15 minutes and the
file conversions create some blocky, jaggy, ugliness – but I'm posting a few
things in the Amiga Arts Forum anyhow.
In the meantime, maybe we'll get our Link-It stuff for Xmas!!!

Get twin.lha and transfer those files at 115,000 baud useing a null modem
cable. Twin will read any hardrive directory from either machine and has the
MSdos and Amigados versions in the archive.
