The composite output from my PAR board looks really awful as compared to the S-Video or component outputs. The edges have a checkerboard pattern to them. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Can any PAR experts suggest how to improve this? Thanks in advance. Ray-

The Y/C and component will always look much better! Greg Pyros

Greg- My need is to make a VHS dub from the PAR. I assumed it would be better to take the signal directly from the PAR composite output to my VHS deck rather than from a Hi-8 or beta master. Am I missing something obvious here? -Ray

If coming from a Hi8 master the video on the VHS will look better if you took from the composite PAR out instead. If you mastered from the Y/C to betacam SP then this beta source will look just as good as the original PAR composite when viewed from the VHS tape.
