HELP! When I try to install AniInfo to windows (from the CD on E: drive), the
resulting icon produces an error message: can't find TBOOK.
Why?
The manual is no help. It's too shy to appear in a wordprocessor.
How do I load AniPro? And AniInfo, with TBOOK?

AniInfo? (clueless)

AniPro is a DOS application. at best, youcan install it from DOS and then
create a PIF file to run it from within Windows.

How does one create a "PIF" file? I'd like to know.
My AniPro loads now. I editted the path in Autoexec (see msg to Brian R).
But I'm still having difficulty accessing the manual.

pull out your Windows manual. in Program Manager, there is a utility called PIF
editor. it explains how DOS graphics applications can be run under windows.

accessing the manual for what product?

We are little confused by your mesage. Autodesk does not produce a product
called AniInfo, and we don't use toolbook for any of our programs. What exactly
are you using, and where did you get it? Is is part of some bundle?

You're right. Sorry. Does "AniPro Info" sound better? That's the name on the
Window's icon.

Not "toolbook," the error said "Tbook.exe." That IS a file on the CD I am
installing from. The CD has flying fish printed on it and serial number
0815MAX02. Looks pretty authentic. Bundled with a CD ROM recorder.
I tried installing on Drive D the first time. I used Drive C all the other
attempts. I believe the installing program saw a path (to D:\Anipro) already
existed and ignored the switch to Drive C. Is that possible?
I kept restoring Autoexec.bat (without looking at it after the first time).
Trying to understand the German choices in the "English" version of the setup
left me with an Autoexec that had nothing in it but "Path=D:\anipro".
Today when I restored the Autoexec I added a path to Drive C. AniPro loads
now, BUT . . .
I have yet to figure out how to access the manual.

The CD that you have was not produced by Autodesk. The CD that is for Animator
Pro is pink and black (no fish), and does not have the program on it, only
sample files. Our package ships with diskettes that install the actual program.
What you have is a CD from a company that has purchased the rights to press our
software on a CD that they made, and sell it as a bundle package with other
software or hardware. The actual software is the same, but they wrote the
installation guide, and probably added some other stuff to the CD, for example
TBOOK.EXE (which is the executable file for a toolbook viewer).

Just to clinch the fact. Our serial numbers do not contain letters.
Bottom line: We can help you with the program once it is installed, but not
with the installation itself, becuase I have never seen it. If you can find
out which company put together the bundle, then perhaps I can request a CD from
them, so I can go though the same installation steps that you are goping
through.
