Thanks for the info Larry. Do you think the Simple libraries are worth the price? (I think they list for $99) I have made several libraries for my TDI system to do what looks like the same things. How helpful are the Benchmark libraries? That is, how much time do they save in program development and how flexible are they. It sounds like I'll have to start saving me pennies for a new compiler. Thanks again for the info. Brian

Brian, The SimpleLibraries are very helpful indeed. They are, in my estimation worth the $99 being asked. Bear in mind that there are 3 separate packages that are optional. I have used 2 of them (Simple and C), and both are very handy. They will save me a lot of work and time. The other optional library package, "Graphics and IFF", I have yet to use, but they sound like they will be just as handy. The prerelease special is $299 for the entire package including the three optional library packages, and I think that makes it even more desirable. As you may know, I am quite ruthless when criticising products that fall short of my expectations. In the case of Benchmark, I have very little to gripe about, the only thing being that I would prefer a different editor. This of course is highly subjective, and many will love the editor. Benchmark could be the Amiga equivalent of Turbo Pascal. Regards, Larry.

Look for a review of Benchmark Modula-2 in both Amazing Computing (by RichieB) and in Ami Project (by yours truely) some time soon. – Steve –
