Stan, It is not so much that the protaganist is one of the 'baddies' but his nemesis is some, huge, faceless corporation (and if you've read Neuromancer, they are _worse_ than the cowboys in most instances.) In the first of the Cyberpunk novels, 'Wetware', the protagonist in that case was the creator of AI machines that had colonised the Moon. (it's better than it sounds 8) He was not a baddie. In fact, none of the major characters in the story were out and out 'bad', but acting at cross purposes. I suppose the legendary version of Jesse James makes good reading, even if the reality was quite a bit different. 8) Doug
