<continuation> for AC magazine. Dr. T's is a copy protected, closed system. Expandability and flexibility – Pro MIDI reigns supreme here. The program is a library and is designed to be completely open-ended. You install whatever modules you might need for your work, then connect them together using a "patch bay". Information is available for writing your own modules (see above). KCS is famous for it's continuing upgrades; if you compare the original KCS (for other computers) with what it is today, you'll see that KCS will probably continue to get more powerful. A good user interface – IMHO, which is worth zip to you, NEITHER of these programs has "a good user interface". Pro MIDI has a pretty hefty learning curve, and some people complain about the mass of windows. KCS can tend to be a bit cryptic if you haven't used it in one of its previous incarnations. I'm not even sure there is a lesser of the two evils here, to my mind. An excellent manual – Again, only a personal opinion. I think KCS probably has the better of the two manuals by a bit.
