I am looking into getting a keyboard to learn to play music. I have almost no musical background, but have always wanted to learn; more so, since I have an amiga, and Sonix. I saw a casio CT-360 at a dept. store, for about $300.00. What I would like to know is… 1. Is this a reasonably good keyboard? It has full size keys, which felt 'right' (solid), a midi in and out, and what looked like a good array of voices. It also has what appears to be built in stereo speakers…are they really stereo? And is the output stereo? It looked like a mini phono jack, but I couldn't tell if it was stereo or not. 2. How hard is it to use it with the Amiga. I have a ECE midi interface that I purchased to use my dad's Yamaha with; but I could never get it and Sonix to work together. Will I have the same problem with the CT-360, or is it easy to do midi interfacing with it? ( I suspect the problem was in setting up the Yamaha, but the dir were VERY unclear.) 3. How well does it play? Will I be able to learn to play as if I were using a 'real' piano? (besides the obvious lack of velocity sensitive keys). Or am I getting a 'toy', that I will soon be frustrated with…or maybe laughed at when I take it to piano lessons? 4. Any general impressions about this particular keyboard, and Casio's in general. And any keyboards that might be a better 'buy' in this same approx price range.
