#DEPCA in PC
3 messages in this thread
I guess this communications forum is the correct place. I am trying to use
the DEPCA Rev E board in a PC to connect to our VAX via PCSA. I also want
to use the same board to connect to our Novell file server. I have been
successful in getting the board to connect to the Novell server, but not to
the PCSA.
The DEPCA board is set to use IRQ5 for the ethernet, and IRQ7 for the
non-existant mouse (we're using Logitech mouse on com1). The memory space
is set for 64K at D000, and the port address is at 300h.
By autoexec.bat has this code segment for the DEPCA SCHPC DLL /port:300 net
start lad /n:cals22 /irq:5 /m:d (would like to limit to 2 disks) net start
rdr /irq:5 net start lat /d:99 /N
Config.sys has the device=laddrv.sys line in it.
SCHPC says "Network kernel version V2.18 (SDC Release)" DLL says "Datalink
Version V2.0.0 Startup Version V2.1.1" The filesize and date is 17257 dtd
9-8-88.
net start lad says "Datalink Version… and LAST Transport… and Datalink
Not Installed" Why not??
net start rdr says "Datalink Version… and DECnet DNP Version V2.0 and
DECnet Error: Datalink not installed"
net start lat says "Datalink Version… and Please run DLL before starting
LAT"
For information, I also have an NE2000 installed in the same machine for my
"regular" connection to the Novell network.
Thanks,
Bill
Bill,
Nice try, but wrong Forum. <smile>
This Forum supports DEC's PCs. DEC's newer-generation PC networking
products (as opposed to the PCs themselves) are supported in our "sister"
forum: GO VAXFORUM. There's a message section there dedicated to PC
Integration which would be the appropriate place to ask.

Thanks, I'll move over.
