What is DEC's policy on servicing Rainbows with 3rd party
hardware/software? have one that has an I drive, a turbow board and runs
under Code Blue. Thanks, and best regards. Al Henderson
Al,
The software shouldn't matter at all.
Whether or not the I-drive or the Turbow board will matter largely varies
from one office to another. Almost certainly if the problem resides within
one of those components they will not be able to fix it.
What is the problem you're experiencing?
In general I would recommend that you de-install the Turbow board and
disconnect the I-drive and see if the problem still exists. If it does,
then *probably* DEC will service it (although they still might claim "the
problem was induced by one of those components"… unlikely they would do
that though).
But the decision on whether or not you should bother with the de-install
and disconnect largely depends on what the problem is! Tell us about the
problem and tell us about your configuration (100A vs. 100B, memory,
options, monitor, etc.)

P.S. Al, I moved your message to our "general" section. The "vendor
support" section is primarily intended for third-party vendors of products
for DEC's PCs.
