Yes they will. They will be available in the near future for current
models. PS. Older models can upgrade to DJ500 for $175 for DJ+ and $200 for
orig DJ models.

I seem to have missed the first part of this thread (don't know how that
happened). Could you elaborate a bit on the DeskJet 500? I presently own a
Desk Jet Plus.
