#BridgeBoard HELP!

I am having some difficulty with my Bridgeboard. I have the old Janus
I am awaiting the Janus II upgrade and chip upgrade. Meanwhile, I am able
to access drive A and drive B (I have an external B drive). I have also
partitioned my hard drive for a 10 Meg MS-DOS Virtual drive.
MS-DOS programs run fine on the A or B drives, however, when I invoke
JLINK (JLINK C: DH2:MSDOSHD), I wind up being able to access the C drive,
but then when I try to access the A or B drive, I get the "ERROR DRIVE NOT
READY" message. It seems as if Jlink allows me to access the virtual drive
and not the floppy drives. What is happening?
Problem 2: When I then attempt a warm boot (CNTRL-ALT-DELETE), I get
the following message:
"E0000h Optional ROM bad checksum = FCh Press F1"
What does this message mean?

Those problems mean your BridgeBoard isn't quite seated properly
and/or the bus translator chips (the square chips on the Bridgeboard) are
not quite tight in the sockets.
Any (even slight) mis-seating of the BridgeBoard causes those chips
to become intermittent with exactly the symptoms you describe.
What fixed my board was to remove the chips (using the proper tool!
… that's VERY important) and slightly bend out the socket contacts and
then re-insert the chips. Do NOT get carried away bending the contacts
out, about a 1/16" is plenty.
