Lattice C 5.0 & Go-Amigo

Mike,
SAS has a provision by which Go-Amigo could update me to the latest
revision for free, but Go-Amigo has to do it. If I do it myself it will
cost $40. Why should I pay $40 on top of the high price charged already
($20 more than most)? I offered to return it for the newer revision before
I openned it but they said it would be a $25 restocking charge on top of
the postage I would have to pay which comes close to the $40.
As for stopping the credit card payment, I feel it is absolutley
appropriate. They are attmempting to rip me off to the tune of between $35
and $60, all told, because of their dishonesty when I explicitly asked for
the 5.1 and they claimed it was in stock. I took the trouble to call
Lattice, then SAS and find out about the upgrade – Go-Amigo refused to do
it – I relayed the information to Go-Amigo. On SAS instructions I openned
the package and verified the 5.05 release was in the box. So now I can't
return it even if I accept the restocking fee. It would be stupid to throw
it out. So I keep it. Maybe stopping the credit card payment will get their
attention! There is no miscommunication either. I called them 4 times
before uploading the message and again today. The "manager will call you
back this afternoon after he talks to SAS" crock wore off after the 3rd
try. They don't understand English politely spoken, so maybe they will
understand money withheld!
