Thanks, Don. I MUST recommend that to my daughter. She has only recently
become interested in listening in – even thinking of getting a license for
sending as well. I don't know when she plans to do it, considering the
kind of schedule she keeps – but at her age, I did much the same, and kept
up with my hobbies after the family had FINALLY gone to bed! 🙂

If your daughter doesn't know what to do with Amateur radio, she'll fit
right in. Most of us had no idea what we wanted to do when we started,
only that it seemed an attractive way to waste er spend time.
I'm a new ham and have recently started exploring packet radio,
particularly, packet bbsing. That's bbsing without toll or long distance
charges. When I started my Novice class, I had no idea what packet radio
could be, let alone that I would be up to my neck in it. 🙂
