David,
I've got 6 megabytes of fast ram and a 40 megabyte hard
drive in my ToolBox (running off an A500). The ram is on a
MicroBotics 8-UP SIMM expansion board; as 1 megabyte SIMMs are
going for around $49 – $70, it's very easy to upgrade. I had
to have the harddrive on Expansion Technology's Flash!Card, but
since I never got it to work 100%, I wrote that puppy off. I'm
using Interactive Video System's TrumpCard Professional now. Just
got it yesterday, and so far no problems. . .as a matter of fact,
I'm very pleased with it's performance.
Beware, some cards and combinations of cards
might not work with the ToolBox. ET says that it knows for sure
that thier own Flash!Card and IVS's original TrumpCard will work
on the ToolBox, but other hard cards might not. . .I myself
can vouch for the just released TrumpCard Professional. Call ET
at 415-656-2890 for the latest on compatability. 'Sposedly,
Pheonix helped ET to fix the ToolBox to run with Supra cards,
but I don't know if these "new and improved" Tool Boxes are
shipping.
