Okay, I am thinking of downloading a C compiler, but I don't want to spend
all that time (read- money) and end up with the same thing that happened
when I bought Modula2 (Benchmark) and found out I had to spend more money
(or time in this case) to get the libraries to use it. I've also decided
I'm not into Modula2. So, is there a C compiler that comes WITH
libraries??? DICE??? PDC???? Or will I have to get one of these and then
send to Commodore for the stuff I need?? Thanx a lot!!! in advance!!! P.S.

DICE is a good compiler, but you'll have to spend $20 to get the
"amiga.lib" file from Commodore to be able to use it effectively. I'm not
sure about PDC.

The 'include' files that you have to have are copyright by Commodore, and
no one can legally distribute those for free. The companies that sell the
compilers pay a fee to Commodore for the right to send them to the people
who buy their compilers. DICE will eventually be commercial, and those
libraries will be included in the commercial version – but not in the
freely distributable one. It just isn't legal.
The includes you need are only $20 from Commodore – not very much money.
Just ask for the 1.3 Native Developers' Kit. Or you might want to wait a
few weeks to see if they have the 2.0 kit ready. I know that it is not
ready yet.
