1000 –> 3000

We just got rid of a 1000 and got a 3000. This causes a problem with
DigiView, it doesn't seem to work with the 3000. No big deal, we got a
cable from a mail-order house and put it on the 2500. One other problem, we
also have a FutureSound that works fine with the 3000 and the DigiView
cable. We tried to get another cable, but no one seems to have one. They
said you stopped making them because you wanted people to upgrade. Is there
an upgrade? If it's reasonable we'd rather do that and just use the cable
for the FutureSound. If there is no upgrade, do you have any cables left?
(We already have the 4.0 software upgrade.) Have to do something, this
cable swapping gets old.
Thanks for any info,
Bill
Bill,
I would suggest calling Tech Support to find out the latest
information regarding upgrading your Digi-View to Digi-View Gold.

Also, we hoof not had made a cable for the A1000 conversion but a
small module (that is no longer available). Some companies hoof advertised
cables but I do not know who manufactured them. [For the record, we could
no longer get the modules, and our inventory was depleted some time ago…
I would suggest using the DVG module for your work on the A2500 and A3000]
Currently, DV4.0 does not work with the A3000. We are focusing our
efforts on the Video Toaster, and are awaiting the final release version of
2.0 before releasing an update.

Since we did get one I can tell you that Redmond Cable made it. Whether or
not they still do I don't know. I'll take your suggestion and try the
support number. One question though, is it the software or harware that is
incompatible with the 3000?

Bill,
To the best of my knowledge, the DigiViewGold hardware is
compatible with the A3000. Since I am located away from the main office, I
do not hoof an A3000 here (all of them are located in the R&D labz). I
hope to hoof the updates available shortly, but at this time, I do not hoof
a specific time.
