I HAVE DISCOVERED SCRIPIT V1.20. IT LOOKS GREAT! I DO NOT HAVE PROGRAMMING
SKILLS. I HAVE TRIED TO WRITE A "SCRIPT" TO OPERATE MICROEMACS V1.3. I USE
ITS "SEARCH-REPLACE" FUNCTION TO AUDIT LONG FILES (EX. 600,000-800,000 )
THIS "SEARCH-REPLACE" FUNCTION WILL OUT-PUT THE NUMBER OF OCURRENCES OF A
GIVEN TEXT STRING THAT I "KEY-IN" WITH THE KEY COMMAND ON SCRIPIT.
HOW WOULD YOU RE-DIRECT "MICROEMACS" STRING (OUT-PUT) (EX. NUMBER OF OCUR
RENCES) TO A FILE IN RAM ? (EX. RAM:AUDIT)
I HAVE READ SCRIPIT DOCUMENTATION MANY TIMES BUT I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH PROGR
AMING KNOWLEDGE TO UNDERSTAND THEM. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.

Scripit does have one limitation in that it cannot redirect a programs
output (in this case the number of occurences) unless the program already
allows that, or the program has an ARexx interface and allows the
information to go out the ARexx port.
Perhaps someday MicroEmacs will be modified to support an ARexx port, or
you could switch to an editor that supports ARexx (lie TxEd+).
