I have a friend looking for a utility that will convert IFF pictures to IBM style pictures with the .pic extension. He has to convert them to EGA types. Something in the public domain that will do what the commercial program "High Jack" will do. Any suggestions? -Rick Graff

Since Hijaak will do the job, why doesn't your friend simply buy it? Victor A. Wagner, Jr.

Native PD running on the Amiga to convert IFF to .PIC, no. There might be some such program running native on the IBM. Another option would be to do it in two steps: first convert the IFF image to GIF on the Amiga, (using AMGIF, here in LIB 14), and then convert the GIF image to the IBM format using one of the multitude of GIF viewers and converters for the IBM. –>Steve Bennett

He can purchase Deluxe Paint II enhanced, it directly supports the IFF standard, and can export to .PCX as well. Also included is a convert utility that will convert to windows paint format as well. A gallery Slidehow program is also included. Orlando/EA:HQ

How does Deluxe Paint II enhanced differ from Deluxe Paint III? -Rick Graff

I think he's referring to the IBM Deluxe Paint II, not one for the Amiga, in this case… –>Steve Bennett
