During the past few monthwavered about upgrading to the 2000. I decided that I didn't have enough money and I didn't see the relative value of the upgrade. But, in the last couple of days I have found out that I'm going to be doing a lot of work on IBM's in a lab and I want to be able to do some of the work at home. I know the upgrade offer is over. Does anyone know the status of the box to go on the outside of the 1000. I believe it was called the 2001? Any suggestions or help will be appreciated. Barry ?ex

Barry, I don't know what the status of ASDG's 2000-and-1 is, but you can ask Perry Kivolowitz, President of ASDG. His ppn# is 73170,2663 GreG

Thanks, I wonder if that means December? I definitely won't hold my breath. Barry

Daryl, the price seems to have not changed, only the release date. I don't know anything more than you do at this point. Perhaps in LA I can find out something more. GreG

Any idea what the hangup(s) might be ? Is CBM fiddling with the bus specs still or is 2000-and-1 type system just very hard to do ? I've never purchased from ASDG… is this type of vaporous scent typical ? Is anyone else even hinting at a similar product ? I'd appreciate your mentioning it to 'em in LA… tnx -da

Daryl, I don't know what is holding ASDG up with the 2000-&-1. CBM is not fiddling with the bus specs. Such a "device" as the 2001 can be anything but easy to do…it does take time. Also, ASDG's SDP HD controller may be slowing down completion of the 2001. That along with ASDG's recent move to Madison, must have pushed back release dates. I'll try and find out anything I can at AmiExpo. Oh, no…have not heard of anyone else even "hinting" at such a product. Regards, GreG

Daryl, From the stuff I've seen from ASDG, I would say that the reason it's being delayed is because they want it to be right. They build quality merchandise and won't put out a product that doesn't do what they say it will do. I don't know what the specific hangup may be…perhaps the FCC (it's not unheard of for them to delay things for quite a while awaiting approval) or some other issue…but when it does make it to the market (and I'm sure it will), it should be good.
