Nope, no experience with Modcomp or Harris stuff. I should clarify that I work at the Daytona Beach facility, which was part of the General Electric Aerospace acquisition early this summer. Not much has changed since then… signs still say GE. We use primarily Sun Sparc 1/2/10s… approximately 70% of the desks with computers have suns, the rest have DEC terminals. Since you are in Ft. Lauderdale, do you know the folks at MetroLink? Garry Paxinos and the group their are trying to put together a SIGGRAPH local chapter their. If you would like to help, call Garry at (305) 970-7353 or pax@metrolink.com. I know that they are serious about this because they made the road trip to our last Orlando meeting. Rick Lapidus (sp?) hangs out here in ASOFT and is also in your neighborhood. Dan

I've met Rick at the 3DS user group meeting, and Gary Paxinos when he was doing some contracting work for Harris (where I work). I've even been to MetroLink when I bought a copy of their port of Motif for Linux. It's just down the street from where I work! I'll drop Pax a line to find out what's going on with the local Siggraph chapter. Thanks for the tip! Steve

Just the other day, Lynn Finch, the Orlando SIGGRAPH Chairperson, posted a call for entries to this year's VideoGanza. The Graphics Forums hosts (Matt Drury and Larry Wood) responded by pledging their support for the event and offering to help in any possible way … they are based in Orlando! Wierd. Dan
