The cdk doesn't want to work with the adi drivers from autocad rev
12 that
I have. I am using Zortech 3.0 and pharlap 4.0 to compile and link. The
computer is a Compaq 386/33 with normal VGA. I did get the autocad to
work
in render mode, so I believe the driver is working on my machine. The
first
tutorial tut-1 swithces to mode 13H and displays the message –
WARNING – no lights defined
creating default lights
forever. I've been trying to get the demo going for a couple months now
and
I'm getting pretty fustrated. Any ideas?

Typically the ADI drivers that were built to be used with ACAD do not meet
the specifications needed to be used as an ADI driver for CDK. The manual
(in discussing the CyADIdisp class) specifies the use of an "ADI 4.2
rendering driver." we are not aware of any shipping "rendering driver"
that is FULLY ADI 4.2 compliant — in particular, none of the ones we've
seen handle the 3D packets that are required for Cyberspace.
What other display options might you have?

Gee brian, are you the Adesk person looking after this section?
I posted a number of msgs here in the last weeks w.o. getting any offical
responses (some other users have chimed in). Pity. I just sent off a review
of CDK for publication. It included a comment on the existance of this
section but the seeming neglect it gets from Adesk.

The development platform is a COMPAQ with its SVGA (NOT the QVISION) video
subsystem. There are some SVGA-VESA emulator sharewares that might be of use
if the CDK supports it. I've tried a few but to NOT had any success with it.
Any recommendaton???? It's a shame that though the CDK CLAIMS to support both
the ADI & VESA and yet there's ADI, and there's ADI and there's VESA, and
there's VESA. CDK seem like a NEAT package but I'm losing my FAITH in it
everytime I look at it.
