Hey all! Have I miss something or you already have comented the new DVR technology by Truevision. This is the long awaited step ahead that Truevision had have to do, and seems that won't be a board, but a new entire technology, base of all Truevision products. Boys and girls, I just have download the text file (there is a postSript file which I suppose full of illustrations) and it looks like the promised land of professional video. It just leaves ANYTHING currently in the market IN THE DIRTY DUST. And certainly, I don't think that anybody will make a step in a near future. In my opinion, anyone in the process of buying a board MUST hold and wait until the first boards releases. Seems to me like a never-ending technology with true full scalability. Well, anyone want to start a discussion and/or thoughts? 🙂 Ana "wanting to hear the experts' opinions" Gervas

Ana, I've heard absolutely nothing about DVR. What does it do? Is it a realtime rendering system (Virtual Reality) or some sort of video editing package? Where did you get the file on it? jerry

Jerry, Get DVR.txt or DVR.pso from the Truevision section (section 6) in the Multimedia Vendor forum (Multiven). The postscript file contains only one lousy picture and takes 18min to download at 2400bps, so you may want to get just the text version. Bailey

Ana I suspect it is some sort of 'plug-in-chip-as-you-work' video adapter. Speculating, you could buy this board (which might have a VGA built in) and then buy plug in chips when you can afford them. The idea being that if you need a VideoVGA you buy that chip and plug in, if you needed a Vista you buy that chip and plug it in (use TSR software to switch between card modes even though all chips are plugged in) etc, etc. This would save slots and prevent address clashes.
