Yesterday when I booted up, my BB did not kick in – nothing. An attempted warm reboot on the PC side did not help. However, when I turned the machine off and then on again, everything worked fine. Does anyone know what could have been the cause of this problem? Is it likely to happen again? Thanks in advance…..Nancy

Nancy, That happens in the PC world from time to time. It just happened on one of the PCs here in my office a few minutes ago. There seem to be a number of potential parity, memory and other errors that can occur on these monsters. If it happens regularly there is most likely a problem. If it's a now and then thing learn to love it. <g> Bill

Nancy, Although this is a difficult problem to troubleshoot at a distance, I would hazard a guess that, for some dumb reason, the janus.library did not load. However, one would expect that a warm boot should have helped but it obviously didn't. It is also a possibility that the handler loaded but the bridgeboard didn't boot for some strange reason. The warm boot didn't do the trick, but a PCReset might have. Hard to tell. I've had occasional bootups where the library failed to get loaded, but I never really knew why, but rebooting usually solves the problem.
