What are the typical rendering times for 3ds? How long are your animations? It seems to me that most of the time in creating 3d animations is spent rendering. Are there any tricks to improving rendering speed

Tricks to improve rendering speed? Sure, a network of as many PC's as you can afford <g>. Seriously, networks are the way to go. John Tissavary (La Luna cie)

Donal, If you are running into a swap file AT ALL, adding more memory is the number one thing you can do to speed things up. 3DS reports, "mem xxxx swap yyyy" after rendering. If yyyy is anything besides zero, then 3DS is writing information to and from your hard drive. Leaving the land of swap-file-dom can give 3x to 6x speed increase, depending. Don
