How long do my messages and their responses typically stay active for me
to read?
I've been trying to get an answer to a question from Gold Disk Tech
Support for a while (almost 6 months) but I only log on every two weeks or
so, and I cannot even find the message I left on the board!
Am I doing something else wrong? I'm using AutoPilot and haven't had
trouble in any other forums…
Thanks in advance.

Robert,
Messages stay in the Forum about a week.
Don
That explains why SoftWood never answers any questions in their vendor
area. By the time they get around to logging in, we've given up on
posting any new messages until they do log in again…

Robert,
The length of time a message remains on the board depends on the activity
in a particular forum. Each forum has a limited number of message slots.
Every new message causes the oldest one to disappear. This means that if
there are lots of messages, they will remain on the board for a shorter
time than if there are just a few – though the more active forums do have
more message slots.
I think you should sign on more often if you have posted a message and are
expecting a reply. In such a case, I think you might need to check every
three or four days to see if there is a reply to your message. If you
have AutoPilot set to "Read Waiting" you can collect only those messages
that are addressed to you, if you don't want to read the whole forum that
often.
