#Changing a Cel's palette
4 messages in this thread
How can you make an object in a scene use a specific ramp of colors? I have a
block of wood — in a scene the palette colors are scattered through the
complete palette. I isolate those colors and build a palette cluster. I now
create a cel from the wood which I want to use in another image. I also copy
the cluster to the palette of the new image. But how do I make the cel of wood
use the new cluster I move to the new palette. In other words if the wood was
using color #35 previously and color #35 is now color number #116, how do I
make the cel make that change to its palette?

This is what the FIT option is for. I think you want to get up an image with
the wood looking OK in the old palette, and then load a new palette – say YES
when it asks about "fit to palette".
I'm sure these directions are a little imprecise. Mess with it.

That is what I thought the FIT option was for too — but the results have been
less than wonderful! I am starting to try and fit the palettes by hand and that
is a loooonnnnnggggggg painful process :-{

Judy,
when you had paste your 'wood cluster' in the new palette and your wood
image is now the actual cel, be sure that the
ANIM CEL…/OPTIONS/FIT COLOR switch is ON. Then the 'wood cel' will
be automaticly displaed and paste in the right colors.
