Dear Toaster owners, I am trying to install a VT4000 in an Amiga 2000 running AmigaDos 2.1 and a Progressive Peripherals Zeus 68040 card. My problem is that after several attempts with several Toasters I can not get a stable system up. When I hit the "TAKE" key between DV1 and DV2 sometimes the image will change, sometimes it won't. The DVx images are typically very ugly and flashing. I am an experienced Toaster installer and have autohue'd et al. I talked to NewTek Tech, and they say that there is a known bug between the Progressive 040 and the VT4000 card. They say that there is a patch out here somewhere that Progressive puts out that will fix this problem. My question is; Does anyone have this patch? Can you upload it, please? Can anyone confirm or deny that this patch exists? Thank you! -John/TCR

John, I have a VT4000 in a 2000 with a PP&S 040 (not Zeus). No problems, it works great, however I did not do the installation and I know the guy that did install it had a lot of problems. He couldn't even get through the install process without disableing the accelerator. He said he did put the latest version of the progressive software on it so maybe thats the ticket. See your dealer, or call mine: Scott Bennett Expert Services 606-371-9690 Hope this helps, Mark C.

Mark, Thanks again for your response. I called Scott and downloaded a file off his bbs, but it is still not the patch that I am seeking. This patch file would be 2-3 weeks old. Thanks again for the suggestion. To anyone else reading this; I am still looking (desperately) for a new (2-3 week old) PPS-040 patch file that patches the Zeus/040 to work with Video Toaster 4000 cards. Any information would be greatly appreciated! -John/TCR

John, Since you're in Denver and PP&S is in Denver, why don't you give them a call — or have they totally disappeared this time? -sja

Steve, I called about 2 days ago and left a message. They haven't returned it yet. I did just call one more time and _plead_ for a response as I am supposed to be installing this thing at 3p.m. today! Aargh! 🙂 I'm thinking of driving down, but I know that they have security doors and don't know if they'd let me in or not. -John
