So I guess you feel the same way I do – that computer renderings need to have
some aspect of irregularity or "real life errors". There's a lot to said for
the beauty of computer perfection, but at the same time, the randomness of
nature is something _extremely_ difficult to duplicate.

yes it's rather ironic really. We spend extra time trying to put real life
imperfections in our photorealistic renderings, while people who work in real
life media, like studio photography, spend extra time trying to get rid of
imperfections.
