Why do you supose that a company like Autodesk (or any other one) pay press people (or freelances) to make an article about 3DS (or any other product)? This is not ethical. Companies send press announcements, letters, calls, faxes, etc… to interest the writer in the product, and if the product is a big one, then is the magazine who call the company. In fact, it's like a circle, we (the press) need them to print an atractive magazine, they need us to have free advertisement (and many times, they get bad reports). When Jesus or me write an article about animation (I remember the first huge one-Greg Pyros and Martin Fosters have the issues because they sent us some great images -thanks again! 🙂 and include 3ds for a lot of pages, Autodesk got an huge amount of free advertisement. They, for sure, get a lot of calls about 3ds. Our magazine too, from people who love the long article. That's the relation there (in PC Actual) doesn't know about international mags like PC Magazine, PC World or Byte. The only material benefit for press are the free lunchs and, of course, tons of free software (and sometimes hardware -ask me about a 2O" Eizo monitor <g>) ana /krazy images
