Thanks, Larry. My main concern, though, is that I'd like to use the database
management software (subject finders, etc.) that come with the encyclopedias
(like Groliers, Comptons). This s/w will be for Macs, etc., so I'd need an
emulator (to get the full use). I don't mind accessing files "by hand" myself,
but it'll make it harder for my nine- year old!
