DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW I CAN GET MY EMPLANT TO USE A HARDFILE , I DID EVERYTHING IN THE EMPLANT MANUAL WITH NO LUCK.MY SYSTEM IS A 4000 W/3.1 AND 2 IDE HARDDRIVES. // Gary B. Flying High From Oxnard,California \\// On AutoPilot 1.74….Long Live The Amiga!

After you have created and mounted the hardfile, you must select the mounted hardfile as a volume in the devices section of the Emplant setup screen. After that, boot with the System 7.1 disk tools disk and the software will ask if you want to format the new partition (hard file)… let it. After that, boot off of the System 7.1 install disk and install the OS on the new hardfile. NOTE: hard files are much slower than real drives. If you want good performance, get a dedicated SCSI drive for the MAC emulation.
