You could try using the sequence: 3ds render filename /#0,200 substitute your number of frames for 200, I just used 200 as an example. I have used this command quite a lot and it always seems to work OK, however I have noticed that you have set the perameters for file type and viewport and save the file before you go to slave rendering. Hope this helps Bill C.

Hello William, Thanks for your reply. I know that the parameter #0,200 is working but in the manual is indicated that /# renders all the frames of an animation. I want to use this because I have a lot of *.3ds files of which I don't known exactly the number of frames in the animation. Otherwise I have to open all these files to kwown exactly the number of frames in the animation. BTW How can you specify in the command line which viewport you want to render. I appreciate much your help. Emmanuel

Hi again Emmanuel, I have struggled with the remote commands in 3ds render commands and I have been uable to use any of the settings, it seems that the switches will not override the current settings saved in the file as it was last saved. This is only a theory right now and and I need to talk to the boys at adesk for more info. So stay tuned I will let you know what I find out, or may be someone else add some light to our dilema. TTFN Bill C.

William, there is no chance to change the viewport with the commandline switches. Ingo
