I just finished a job rendering 1000 frames with two IFL files addressing the PAR (version 1.09) on a Lantastic Net , the PAR is on a 486-66 and I used two P5 90's to do the rendering. After all my initial tests everything seemed O.K.. The problem I ran into was accessing the .ANI files across the NET, every other frame had the animated maps reversed! I talked to Scott on Wed. A.M. to address this problem, I told him that I was using Ver 1.09 and that I would test the BETA after this last job. Well here I am with the BETA version , please check out this problem, it would a very nice way to store large animated maps if it were reliable across the NET! (P.S. It does work well on a single render station across the NET.) Thanks Mike Morgan, Cad Forms Inc., San Diego, CA

RE: Reversed animated mats Check the frames by hand.. Can you play the frames normally? I can't think of anything off hand that would cause the PAR to reverse the frames. Do you mean that the fields are backwards, the frames are backwards (out of order), the entire frame is backwards (mirrored) or…? Oh, do you mean that the two IFL maps would somehow get out of sequence? hmm.. If you mean that somehow the objects were getting the wrong images.. thats a network problem.. if the frames are backwards.. thats a software problem… otherwise.. I have no idea… Please send more input!!! There is nothing different about large or small animations as they are accessed across the network, or any other device.
